This concept implies the management of goods transported from place to place. First of all, such management should be well-established. Where did this science begin and who was at its origins?

An excursion into history

This science originates from Ancient Greece. Actually, the morphological basis of the word is Greek. The word "logos" in translation from ancient Greek means "ratio". Later, logos was transformed into logistics, which acquired the importance of a financial organization.

The French language has brought its own background to the concept, changing the logistics to "Loger". In high-flown French, it means "house". Further, the house began to symbolize the management of a number of products of a particular company.

Causes of occurrence

The appearance of logistics was predetermined primarily because of military operations in ancient times. In the old days, this concept had a slightly different character and was used when transporting different types of weapons. In addition, it was necessary to place the troops correctly and determine the strategy of combat operations. Here logistics came to the rescue again. It is believed that it was at that time that the first transportation of prefabricated goods was carried out.

The first person who started implementing logistics in practice was Alexander the Great. It was after his actions that he was awarded the title of the great logistician of all time. He not only perfectly applied his knowledge of the terrain in practice, but could also act tactically, anticipating the further actions of enemy troops and promptly changing the positions of his own if necessary. As a result, Alexander expanded his empire to the limits of East Asia, which cannot but cause admiration.
